Contemporary Tapestry Rug Figure "cobra" Signed Tinus

About the Item

Contemporary Tapestry Rug Figure "cobra" Signed Tinus" Hand tufted rug, Cobra design, circa 1990. What is the Hand Tufted rug? Soft, soft and perfectly suited to contemporary designs, the hand-tufted rug, also called Hand Tuft or Asian Point, has become a reference in the world of designer rugs. The thick, high-quality wool from New Zealand guarantees absolute comfort and softness that has nothing to do with a traditional hand-knotted rug. The Artist : VAN BAKEL TINUS Tinus Van Bakel (pseudonym: Tinus V.) was a Dutch artist born in Eindhoven in 1939 and died in Schilde in 2020. He was self-taught. Lived and worked in Paris, Melun, Pavia, Heidelberg and finally settled in Antwerp. Creator of his own world, populated by colorful and strange creatures, composed of both flexible shapes and geometric structures. From the press: T.V.B. part of his subconscious spiritual life. The dominant motifs here include all kinds of plant forms, the wheel, the eye, the sky, the sea and the woman. The characteristic is that the head is never represented, it becomes a plant being, organically merged with geometric and even purely abstract structures and a totally strange world arises, which fascinates and seduces through shapes and colors, totally foreign to nature or the environment. Reality that surrounds us, only vague memories of this reality sometimes continue to appear in part, but entirely written in a different alphabet. Signed Tinus or Tinus V. Work at the Ostend Museum, among others. Mentioned in two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists.
