Allca is a carpet brand based on conscious design. Each piece is unique, hand woven from plastic waste, recovered from rivers and seas. Through a sustainable process, the aim is to hybridise art and design creating a sophisticated, high quality, long-lasting product. Our pieces are woven in a single mono material. This spinning is obtained from the recycling of tons of post-consumer plastics that threaten our marine ecosystems worldwide. In addition to being recycled, being a monomaterial product means that its recycling is really feasible, serving for the creation of other polymeric products re-inserting itself in the consumption chain. We understand creation as a learning in continuous evolution, a merge between ancestral techniques and new technologies. By digitally printing our rugs, we reduce water consumption by 10 times compared to a traditional production process. We eliminate the dyeing process of spinning, which is often polluting, expanding the graphic possibilities to infinity. Our rugs are soft and warm to the touch. It feels very similar to a natural fiber like cotton. Its thickness and weight create the perfect balance, without making it too stiff. You can easily roll them up for storage and transportation. Digital printing not only has a relevant impact on saving water but also provides an advantage that differentiates us within the market. Our rugs are reversible, so both sides of the product are equally attractive and useful. The high-quality recycled polyester allows the rugs to be used outdoors as well. Our pieces are certified in terms of colour fastness, so you can enjoy them in any environments with responsible use and certain care. You can also remove surface stains easily, since the slightly satin finish of the material is less porous than other fibers. This makes it highly recommended for homes with children, pets or people with allergy problems.
