1934 French Modernist Armchairs on Plinth Bases By Decoration Lévitan

About the Item

A pair of supremely elegant French Art Deco armchairs made by Decoration Lévitan in 1934 and documented in their catalogue of that year. Each chair is beautifully proportioned with an upper body upholstered in velvet, with the plane of each arm subtly curved along the top to lean down into the backrest, and the whole of this cubed Modernist form set atop a recessed plinth base. (A third chair is also available).
