Baroque Swedish Armchair, Hand-Carved from Beechwood and Ash

About the Item

Baroque Swedish armchair hand-carved from beechwood and ash (circa 1670-1699), with traces of early ruddy-color paint. Well-worn prominent, almost-serpentine shaped, claw arms, original rope seat and turned upright supports connected by original turned stretchers. All elements of this armchair show all the beautiful patina and wear to be expected of a chair of its age. Note: Original/early finish on antique and vintage metal will include some, or all, of the following: patina, scaling, light rust, discoloration, and corrosion. Due to regional changes in humidity and climate during shipping, antique wood may shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer may loosen or peel, and painted finishes and gilt may flake and crack.
