Early 20th century Gillows Design Chair in Mahogany

About the Item

Sn5435 Fine quality the 'shepherd's crook' open armchair having 'escutcheon' cartouche-shaped back, 'shepherd's crook' arms and oval seat with horsehair upholstery, standing on shaped legs embellished with ‘Venus’ shells, carved ears above ball and claw feet. This antique chair retains its original finish and good patina, all in home ready condition. c1920 This model is documented in Susan Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London, 1730-1840 H37.5” H18.5”-seat W27.5” D22.5” H95cm H47cm-seat W70cm D57cm
