"Marcel Gascoin, decorator-architect, is a member of the UAM. Among the members of the UAM who took part in the construction of the Cité Universitaire d'Antony, to name but a few, are Eugène Beaudouin and Jean Prouvé as "engineer-builders"; Marcel Gascoin and Charlotte Perriand as "decorator-architects". They all worked on the development of the residence, driven by a common desire: to renew the habitat and propose a new living environment adapted to today's man. This intense collaboration was part of the great movement of the "synthesis of the arts", which Le Corbusier had been promoting since 1944 and which continued in 1952 with the founding of the Espace Group around André Bloc. Together, at the UAM, they experimented with new solutions in this direction, pooling their skills as architects, urban planners and decorators. ".
