Mid-19th Century French Rush Seat Lounge Chair

About the Item

Found in the South of France this mid 1800s French Rush Seat Lounge Chair features a rush seat created by using a weaving technique where long, dried grass-like vegetation is used. The fauteuil armchair or lounge chair was constructed with a high back decorated with three horizontal slats.
