Pair 17th Century Louis XIII Barley Twist Armchairs
About the Item
Pair 17th century Louis XIII barley twist armchairs are perfect for adding an Old World touch to any decor. handcrafted from solid old-growth French walnut, each features a framework of clockwise and counter-clockwise barley twist columns and supports, interconnected with extraordinarily precise craftsmanship to remain strong for centuries. The elegantly scrolled armrests are adorned with sculpted acanthus leaves, with the tips ending in a scrolled form. The generously sized seats and seatbacks are still appropriate for 21st century physiques. Each having been reupholstered many times over the centuries, they are sold with the expectation that the upholstery will be replaced by their new owners.
