Pair of vintage Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli armchairs, Italian. Item features aluminium and steel frames, brown molded vinyl upholstery, sleek Modernist lines, original tag, made in Italy, circa 1960s, Italy. Measurements: 30" H x 29" W x 22" D x 18" seat height x 26.5" arm height.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Very good vintage condition being structurally sound with age appropriate signs of normal use as pictured. Some minor scuffs to metal frames and rubs to vinyl. Small tear to vinyl armrest. Overall very nice.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
