Pair of Vintage Scandinavian Modern Black Leather Armchairs from Ire Möbel AB
About the Item
This set of rare armchairs was manufactured by Ire Möbel AB in Skillingaryd, Sweden, during the 1970s. The seats were upholstered in black natural leather with longitudinal stitching. They have a soft and comfortable seat and built-in armrests. The profiled, high headrest has been enriched with an additional, removable pillow. There are mounted on a metal frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel. The back has been upholstered with an elegant navy blue fabric. The slim shape and delicate roundings affect the visual perception of the pieces as well as the comfort of use. This set combines the tradition of Swedish design with modernity.
Manufaktura Ire was founded in 1939 in Skillingaryd in Småland by Gerhard Ihreborn. Gerhard Ihreborn and his colleagues were inspired by the vision - to produce high-quality furniture with a long life and a timeless, modern design. The goal has never been large quantities, but a commitment to quality. Ire's basic philosophy has not changed over the years. They produce durable furniture of the highest craftsmanship quality, high comfort and clean design. The manufactura remains rooted in modern Swedish tradition, but also draws inspiration from the international design market.
This set is in original vintage condition with age marks. It has minor scratches on the leather with natural patina.
