Pierre Chapo, Pair of "Sahara" Armchairs, France, 1960

About the Item

Pierre Chapo (1927-1987), Pair of "Sahara armchairs in blond elm and stitched Havana leather, France 1960. The backrest is swivel and the seat is stretched by a linen rope. The solid elm structure is assembled using a "48×72" key, the simplicity of the design and the quality of the cabinetmaking have made Ateliers Chapo famous. These "S10B" armchairs are old editions, they were acquired by their former owner in the mid-1960s, Pierre Chapo's 33 rpm record "Chansons d'Atelier" is from the same source. Very good condition.

    Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. These armchairs have had their elm structure cleaned, oiled varnish finish. The leathers have been restored and patinated, this professional restoration has been carried out respecting the original state.
