Pr. 1930's Machine Age Art Deco Arm Side Dining Chairs possibly Prototypes

About the Item

Unusual pair of period Machine Age arm chairs, having chrome plated steel frames, wood seating backrests, and leather upholstered armrests. We believe these could be early prototypes, as we have not seen this form before, nor can we find any examples in the literature. The construction, style and materials make us think they were made by McKay Craft Furniture, but we cannot document them. The chairs are in fair condition, the metal finish shows wear, as does the paint and leather elements. There are two replaced bolts, which are not original. Offered and priced as a pair, selling as is and as found. Total H 34 x Arm H 27 x Seat H 17 x W 24 x D 22 inches.
