Set of 4 Nicos Zographos Rare Stainless Steel & Leather Armchairs Dining Chairs
About the Item
This set of four armchairs was designed in 1966 by Nicos Zographos for the General Fireproofing Company, which dissolved in the early 1990s. This set is very rare, being of the armchair variety instead of the vastly more common side chair. Reminiscent of other chromed tubular steel charis of the era, these set themselves apart with their construction and design. They are made primarily of a double cantilever loop of tubular stainless steel., designed such that the front legs support the thick saddle-leather seats. This gives the impression that the seat is completely disconnected from the rear frame. The seat and backrest are made of thick sheets of saddle-grade leather with grommeted holes and springs that add comfort during use.
An extremely handsome and sturdy chair, these are in very good condition. Leather is clean and soft. Holds weight well and feels stable. Each chair has an undeniable heft, so roughly 35 pounds per. You will love the practicality and extraordinarily high quality of these chairs.
