A wooden gymnastics apparatus created in 20th century Belgium. Originally created to assist in calisthenic exercises, this bench is well served by its heavy construction and sturdy base. Originally manufactured in Belgium, yet used at the Olympic Gymnasium in London, this bench exudes a compelling sense of history and importance. The thoughtful joinery and leather handles remind of a simpler, more hand-made time, and inspire an array of potential new functions that it can serve.
