Chinese Painted Antique Elmwood Prayer Bench

In 1948 the wealthy people left China with their money and jewels
but left behind their furniture, which the Government stored in warehouses. Fifty years later that furniture was put into containers
and sold to stores in Western Countries. There was no way to
determine how old each item was. This bench was part of one of those containers.
The bench is about 200 years old, made of elm wood from northern
China. It has been painted and time and use has worn much of it off.
The 4"thick elm board seat is 72"X 8".
