The supporting beams underneath and on either side of the seat are very similar to the beams that hold a Gothic church roof. The detailed, hand carved elements on both sides too are great Gothic features that make this bench a real joy to look at. The open design makes this antique bench extra attractive and spacious too. Apart from highly decorative this bench is absolutely ready to be used and enjoyed and it will easily take a grown-up of 200 pounds. That is how strong it is.
