Testatonda
It is said that every name indicates an omen, although no one chooses their own. It is said that each name decides the legacy of one generation to another and attests to the unexpected continuity of a project. Perhaps this is why every auroral moment always begins with a name; ours is Testatonda.
Born from the encounter between architecture and design, our dream is to design furniture, invent collections and create prototypes in our old Turin laboratory; imagine elementary forms, realize the zero point.
As for the round head nail, forged by the creative repetition of craftsmanship, Testatonda proposes objects able to combine functionality and refinement.
We draw inspiration from the intuitiveness of elegance and the plurality of its shapes, and we identify in gaps and uneven details the criteria of any possible beauty.
If it is true that – nomen omen – every name indicates an omen, we make Testatonda the sign of this project.
Our story is very particular and unusual, a bit like the classic film story, that’s why we always like to tell it. Our group is made up of four boys, three from Turin and one from Rome. The two of us met on a flight to Barcelona,??sat side by side and started talking. A strong friendship was born immediately, as if we had known each other for a long time, and from there a collaboration as both designers. We met with the other for the first time on the balcony of a house in Turin, and with the other still on the balcony of a house in the Moscova area of ??Milan. These are three iconic places that have shaped our history and despite the fact that these are three encounters that are very distant from each other both geographically and temporally, they all share their unconventionality and a sort of upward trend (flight, balcony).
Our collaboration was born because we individually deal with furniture, we are half architects and half designers even if one of us comes from humanities. We therefore have interdisciplinary skills and this is what has prompted us to unite to complement, compensate and strengthen each other. The place where we work has greatly influenced the choice of the name, a huge workshop in Turin that was previously a carpentry shop. Having this huge space available gives us the opportunity to prototype wood and iron as first materials. Testatonda in particular is inspired by the round-head nail, a connecting element between the world of iron and that of wood. His function is therefore perfectly suited to the composition of our group, made up of different elements from each other, with transversal skills. We therefore thought that it could represent the union not only between heterogeneous materials but also between different people.

Galerie Philia
Galerie Philia is an international contemporary sculptural design and art gallery representing emerging and established designers and artists. The gallery is the brainchild of two brothers who share a lifetime passion for art, literature and philosophy. Their distinct academic background sets them apart from their peers, as it sees them following a rhizomatic and transcultural approach in the way they select works. This involves combining elements from multiple cultures in what becomes a network of harmoniously interconnected roots, ultimately revealing the beauty of each unique creation. The gallery’s non-hierarchical curation sits apart from the ephemerality of trends and focuses instead on the true aesthetic quality of the piece – alluring and timeless. Unlike others, Galerie Philia does not focus on a single style – whether minimalist, organic or raw – but rather embraces heterogeneity. The Galerie Philia takes pride in discovering new talents, providing them with multiple international platforms to showcase their latest creations. As well as propelling the newest generation of 21st century collectible design, Galerie Philia also works with internationally known design artists. Galerie Philia has a strong international presence, with galleries in Geneva, New York and Singapore. In addition to their permanent spaces, the gallery organizes temporary group exhibitions and artists residencies in first-class locations around the world.

- Admani Bench by PendhapaLocated in Geneve, CHAdmani bench by Pendhapa Dimensions: D 126 x W 45 x H 42 cm Materials: Solid black javanese teak, Hand loom Silk Weight: 60 kg The vision behind our collaboration with Helena Bajaj Larsen is one of merging and honouring aesthetic and heritage standpoints hailing from diverse global perspectives. It is the coming together of an architectural design studio and a textile fashion studio. Our collaboration is anchored in space, touch and interaction and manifests itself through both its structural and spatial qualities. Our first piece is intended as a physical object that would bring people together - a point of convergence in a circulatory space: a bench fit for a few individuals to gather, converse, observe. We designed the bench as a central piece in the spirit of dissolving the boundaries between product and architecture, fabric and surface, object and space. Pendhapa Atelier is here acting as the creative engineer behind the structure of the product. Their design for the bench is conceived as “plateau” to support and showcase the artwork and craftsmanship present in the fabric by HBL. The plateau is divided by two asymmetric arcs making the experience of the bench different from each angle. The fabric is entirely hand-painted and is made of pure handloom Indian raw silk We are Atelier Pendhapa...Category
