XXth Century, Pair of Italian Neoclassical Style Lacquered Wood Stools

About the Item

This gorgeous pair of stools was made in Piedmont (northern Italy) in the early twentieth century in Neoclassical style. Their structure is in carved wood and lacquered in shades of ochre and blue, characteristic of the construction area. The band under the seat consists of carved frames with classical, geometric and palmette motifs. In the center there is a bas-relief decoration with vegetable and floral elements. Near the corners, inside square frames, is carved a large flower. The legs are characteristic of the neoclassical style, with an inverted cone trunk and grooved. They originate from a circular and concave capital and end with a circular foot. These stools or benches are very decorative, suitable to be placed in any room, next to a wall, placed under a painting, or next to sofas and armchairs. They can also be placed at the foot of a bed or placed in an entrance.
