18th C Italian Piedmontese Carved Gilded Chair

About the Item

A beautifully carved large scale Piedmontese chair with a cream painted and gilt decorated frame. The shield shaped back has two circular highly carved columns to each side, below a deeply carved top chair rail with a curved pediment. The chair seat is also framed in deeply carved and gilded wood and supported on four large carved tapering front and rear feet. The chair with it's loose down cushion is upholstered in an orange velvet with olive green banding.
