18th Century Carved-Wood & Upholstered Armchair from Italy

About the Item

A single Italian carved-wood accent armchair from the 18th century. This antique chair from Italy has a nicely carved stylized plaque adorning its back rail crest. Gently curved arms terminate into scrolled knuckles. The seat and arch-shaped back have older upholstery, which is visible on both sides of the back. The delicately carved skirt is adorn in swagged scrolls, spaced fluted carvings, and rosettes above each knee. The chair is raised on four squared and fluted legs, which taper slightly towards their feet. The wood has a lovely old patina, showing its rich history and use. This 18th century Italian armchair, with its nicely carved wood frame, will make a charming accent chair; a beautiful and functional addition to your home.
