1940’s Solid Ash Church – Chapel Dining Chairs – Good Quantity Available 1940’s Solid Ash Church – Chapel Dining Chairs – Good Quantity Available. England has a wonderfully rich heritage for making chairs. At the height of production at the turn of the last century over 4500 chairs were being produced daily in the villages around High Wycombe. Each chair was hand made typically in Oak or Elm. Sadly Churches find non stacking chairs take up too much space so they find their way to us to for a second rich life. Handmade in elm and ash they are wonderful examples of a classic Church chair with a rich colour an heavy solid weight and an elegant single bar back. Look under the seats and you can see the original saw marks, slightly primitive, but honest and true. We service and wax each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. We have a good number available. Seat height 44 cm. WORKSHOP REPORT Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
