About the Item

Rare easy chair model "KS46" designed by Anton Lorenz circa 1950, manufactured by Thonet in Germany, circa 1980. The beautifully designed base of the chair is made of chrome metal with black wood on the armrests. The seat and back are upholstered in the highest quality black leather, providing extra comfort. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.

    Set of ten armchairs designed by Anton Lorenz for Thonet. Each chair has tan upholstered backrest and seat with polished chrome tubular frames. Mid-Century Modern S-37 chairs were originally designed by Anton Lorenz in 1929 and later manufactured by Gebruder Thonet in the 1970s. In 1929 Anton Lorenz founded the firm Desta (Deutsche Stahlmobel) in Berlin making Anton Lorenz the first to manufacture tubular-steel furniture on a commercial scale.
