Late 19th Century White Wrought Iron French Chairs

About the Item

A quite exceptional late 19th century pair of French patio/orangery chairs. This is a beautiful wrought iron pair of large chairs, with the most intricate decorative detailing and workmanship throughout. An abundance of flowers and leaves decorate the sides and backs of the chairs, with beautiful original hand painted colours and aged patina. Made in France at the latter end of the 19th century, these would grace any interior space. We have had the chairs re-upholstered in a soft neutral linen style cotton fabric. The seat cushions and back pads are fully padded along with the small curved padded arm rests All the upholstered pieces are fixed in place, attached to the frame not loose. This pair of wrought iron chairs are stunning and we've not seen another like it. They are rare and extremely unique. Both chairs are of large proportions and heavy, with blacksmithing techniques, repousse details and decorative tole ware flower work. The craftsmanship is incredible and the hours of work, countless Some of the leaves and flowers have been lost over the years as these are fine and delicately made, images to show these are attached. Chair dimensions Width 71cm, height 106cm, depth 70cm, seat h 42cm, seat width/depth 60cm, Back pads on all 45cm, arms on all 21cm length.
