Original Design Sergio Rodrigues, Lucio Chairs for OCA Brazil, 1950s

About the Item

Sergio Rodrigues set the standard for Modern furniture in Brazil during the 1950s. His works have become a reference for Brazilian design, which often use indigenous wood species such as jacaranda and imbuia. One of his most iconic designs is the Lucio chair, which was designed celebrating Lucio Costa, a well-known Brazilian architect. Our version dates back to the 1950s and is made of a solid exotic hardwood structure with a caned seat. The natural cane has been completely re-done by hand; a meticulous and very time consuming job. Note that chairs carry the OCA stamp, which is extremely rare. Materials: tropical hardwood, cane Origination: 1950s, Brazil. Labelled by manufacturer. Condition: Very good. Cane replaced, chairs are structurally strong, the joints have been checked. The wood shows some natural signs of use as per images. These chairs are stable and ready for daily use. Approximate Dimensions: Height: 80 cm Width: 46 cm Depth: 49 cm Seat height: 43 cm Price per piece.
