Pair of Victorian Side Chairs with Green Paint and Red/ White Upholstered Seats

About the Item

A fine pair of Victorian balloon back side chairs. With delicate cabriole front legs and a shaped back with medial stretcher. The chairs have a 20th century faux finish green repaint with red and gold highlights. The seats have a new (last 3 years) red & white printed upholstery. (The pattern is somewhat Hermes-esque, and the material appears to be linen). Overall, just an outstanding pair of side chairs! Date: Late 19th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, lightly used estate condition. Condition Details: The seats have been recently reupholstered. The back of one chair appears to have been reglued. The wood has a faux decorated repaint. Brackets have been applied to several legs to increase stability. Measurements: Overall height ca. 34 in.
