A set of four design chairs by Gijs Boelaars for Lundia - 1970s

About the Item

A set of four architectural design chairs by Gijs Boelaars for Lundia, 1970s Nice as a side- or dining chair and easy to adjust the seating height. Fits easily into a midcentury modern - or contemporary interior design. The laminated beech wood shows traces of use, scratches but adds up to the character and look of the design; functional and used. This piece shows that construction alone can be very decorative as well, without using a lot of space. The chair also shows postmodern elements like the half-circle base. The holes in the backrest that are made to alter the height of the chair, also give the chair a more transparent look. The chair meets its surroundings through the holes and the chair therefore becomes light, less 'heavy'.
