Set of four Neoclassical 18th Century Upholstered dining Chairs in Pink France
About the Item
Directoire-style dining chairs illustrate the minimally adorned style that became favorable after the French Revolution. Neoclassical carved wood dining chair set of 4 circa 19th Century France. Beautiful set of four carved wood dining chairs. Chairs have rounded oval backs. Both sides are upholstered in a beautiful pink fabric with matching cording around the edges. On the back of the chairs, the same pink fabric and cording is used. Chair back splats are framed in carved wood. The backs, however, have a single piece of wood that attaches from top to bottom of the oval seatback.
Seats are upholstered in a pink matching fabric with double cording. Typical of Louis XVI style. Seats are in a square shape, with a slight curve around the apron. Chairs sit atop neoclassical French style base with straight column-like legs tapering to the floor, also in carved wood.
