Swedish Period Rococo Armchair with Handwoven Allmoge Textile Seat

About the Item

A Swedish carved-wood single arm chair with fabulous old woven fabric upholstery from the mid-18th century. This antique chair from Sweden, though period Rococo, is more subdued in it's carvings, more likely from the country than city. It is quite a charming piece with it's carved back-splat, scrolled knuckles, turned stretchers and carved-paw feet. But just as lovely is the fabric on the seat, which we would not recommend removing, as it is a beautiful example of Swedish handwoven textile "allmoge" (folk art). This 1750s simple Rococo and allmoge upholstered armchair will make a splendid addition to your home, perhaps in a bedroom, study, or finding it's place next to your living room hearth.
