Two Biedermeier shovel chairs in cherry, Southern Germany, around 1820
About the Item
A near pair of Biedermeier shovel chairs in cherry with burl veneer and ebonized thread inlays on the backrest. The chairs stand on square tapered legs, with the rear ones slightly curved. The seats are upholstered and covered with a light blue and white striped fabric. The chairs have been restored and polished by hand. On the underside inventory note from Regensburg Castle, no. 27.
