Rare Chaise Lounge by Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler, circa 1954, Móveis Artesanal
About the Item
This chaise Lounge is one of the fantastic designs by Martin Eisler (1913-1977) and produced by Móveis Artesanal and then Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte. Galeria Artesanal, the first showroom that presented the furniture and objects created by Moveis Artesanal and HG Ceramica, used to sell this design.
The traditional chaises are one type of lounge chair usually characterized by the permanently and extremely reclined position – in which the angle is set by design. This piece features a comfortable, highly anatomical upholstered seat, long enough to stretch the legs. Its curved structure adapts perfectly to the relaxed body shape, and different from the traditional chaise lounges, the addition of arms makes the piece much more versatile.
Other furniture produced by these companies combined similar iron structures with different seat types, such as the Concha armchairs and the Reversível armchairs. These iron structures in the seating furniture became one of the designers' signatures and soon spread as a reference. In this design, the boldness comes from many details, and we highlight the structured head shape and the solid Rosewood organic armrest. Pure gold!
This piece was reupholstered by our experienced team using high quality foam and a gorgeous burgundy suede leather.
