Pair French Art Deco Englinger Lounge / Club Chairs

This stunning pair of French art deco lounge chairs was designed ca. 1928 by Gabriel Englinger and probably editioned by Studio Abran in Paris. The chairs are of figured Brazilian rosewood and sit on a lap foot base that extends to the back of the chair. The curved rosewood sides and facing on the front are enveloped by the upholstered arms. The “cloud” back, loose box seat cushion and arms are all covered in a taupe woven jacquard fabric. Each chair measures 41” wide x 29” deep and 29” high. Photos of a similar set of chairs in a room setting are pictured on page 192 of the June 1928 Edition of "Art & Decoration", Paris. Photos of room design attached.
