Art Deco
Unlike the lines of Art Nouveau, those of Art Deco no longer have any freedom. The characteristic lines of the 1925 style return to a classic, rigorous, symmetrical and straight order. In addition, the lines are arranged in a geometric way. The straight lines of Art Deco are pure and serve, on their own, to establish a piece of furniture or an object of decorative arts. Some curves may exist in the frame of a piece of furniture. However, they are still very wide and very light. Any Art Deco representation is, unmistakably geometric. Even the few floral motifs are simplified and are illustrated with simple lines. This is a real break from the previous style.
