19th Century Italian Renaissance Corner Armchair
About the Item
19th Century Italian Renaissance corner armchair was designed to take advantage of an otherwise unused space in the corner. Sculpted from solid walnut, it features a semicircular armrest supported by three turned uprights between which have been placed sculpted panels depicting bird, shell and foliate motifs. A young angel's face bracketed by wings faces directly up from the armrest at the rear, carved in full relief. A classically scrolled apron appears below, framed by the four turned supports with the frontmost carved with a rosette. Upholstered in serviceable damascene fabric, it's perfect for adding an Old World masculine touch to the room.
