Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold Møbelfabrik, set of six dining chairs, model 71, teak, brass, Denmark, 1959
This sculptural set of six dining chairs is designed by the Danish designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold Møbelfabrik. The chairs are organic in their shape as can be seen in the rounded, almost branch like legs and the elegant open detail in the armrests. The frame flows gracefully all the way from the bottom to the top. There are little black grips on the armrests in order for the elbows not to slip and to lift them easily up. The backrest is curved and seems to belong to the frame as naturally as a flower belongs to its stem.
Please note that these chairs are in good, used condition.
