Set of 10 Federal Style Dining Chairs Attributed to Nathan Margolis, Hartford CT

About the Item

A fine set of ten Federal style mahogany dining chairs attributed to Lithuanian / American well known furniture maker Nathan Margolis, of Hartford CT, two arm chairs and eight side chairs, with heart shaped backs featuring pierce carved urn form back splats, flower carved decoration on each front reeded tapered leg, and cream colored urn decorated upholstered seats. An Imperial Decorating & Upholstery (West Hartford CT) label can be found on some of the undersides. The set is in very good overall condition with some edge rubs, high point losses, foot losses, and light wear commensurate with age and use. The set dates to the early 20th century. Dimensions: Arm chairs: 39.5 in H x 24 in W x 26 in D; Side chairs: 38.5 in H x 23.25 in W x 24 in D, with a seat height of 18 inches. Ref: 8
