Thonet no. 25 dining chair, set of 4, produced from c. 1875 to 1911.
Bentwood frames with original dark finish, period upholstered seats
This is a beautiful, rare set of one of the most sought after early Art Nouveau style Thonet chair designs, in superb original condition.
Condition: Good original unrestored condition. Bentwood frames are solid without any structural problems. Some general signs of wear to the wood in keeping with age. Some indication of period touching-up where the seats would have been unscrewed and removed for re-upholstery. The upholstery appears to have been replaced at some stage but is vintage. The upholstery is currently useable as it is, but it is assumed that this will be updated.
Each chair stamped with makers mark ‘Thonet’ to underside.
