About the Item
Presenting a set of (6) iconic signed "Razorblade" dining chairs, designed by the legendary architect Henning Kjærnulf for EG Kvalitetsmøbel. Constructed from quarter-sawn white oak - a signature of Kjærnulf's work - this model features a triple-slat back and traditional Scandinavian woven stripe fabric seats. Each chair is signed on the front seat rail with an original EG Kvalitetsmøbel label, which credits the architect "H. Kjærnulf".
Henning Kjærnulf is among the exalted few designers to possess a voice so singular and a body of work so prolific as to be credited with the invention of an entire design style. Propelled by fine craftsmanship and a masterful understanding of traditional carving and millwork, Kjærnulf's iconic "Danish Brutalist" furniture playfully combines elements from earlier design movements - including the Arts & Crafts, Rococo, and Jacobean styles - with Modern silhouettes and a Scandinavian palette of natural woods to create a look that is both entirely unique and instantly recognizable.
