Six Chairs Attributed to René Prou, France, 1940s

About the Item

Elegant and unusual set of six hand-wrought iron chairs attributed to René Prou. The iron has a lovely, heavy feel and is painted glossy black. Traces of earlier greeny blue paint are visible beneath. Very pretty design. The chairs have shield backs with a diamond lattice pattern, and extravagant cabriole front legs. The feet end in small ball feet. The seats retain the original vinyl fabric covering.
