About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this sublime suite of eight original Victorian spoon back pollard oak dining chairs These are a very well made set, the frames are ornately carved all over and finished with porcelain castors. The seats are brown leather upholstered These were made by a master craftsman, the timber patina is sublime, Pollard oak cost a small fortune when new and was only used on the finest furniture These chairs have been restored to a base usable level which is to say the frames have been checked and secured, the timber and leather cleaned waxed and polished. They are usable as every day chairs and have been priced based on the condition. They are 160+ years old from new, as such they have various old repairs, some timber losses, some marks to the leather base, these are certainly not perfect chairs by any stretch of the imagination, they have lots and lots of patina, some are perfect, others not so much.
