1975 George Nakashima Studio Lounge Chair with Free Form Arm Walnut and Hickory

About the Item

An original George Nakashima Right arm plank lounge chair. Gorgeous form with a live edge plank for resting a book or a drink. The char includes hand sculpted spindles that attach to the back with through tenon joinery, as well as a generously wide sculpted wing shaped seat. Dimensions: 30”D x 33 1/8”H x 31.5”W with a seat height of 12.75” Condition: Original finish. Three light water rings on the arm surface. Some light paint transfer from rubbing against a wall on the sides of the seat. Client name on bottom “hemmendinger”. Marjorie Hemmendinger ran the Full Circle Gallery in Alexandria Va which retailed George Nakashima pieces during the 1970s and 1980s. A copy of the 1975 order card provided by the Nakashima Foundation will accompany this work. Shipping: This item will be shipped by a personal courier.
