Carlo de Carli 915 Armchair with Footrest in Metal and Leather by Cinova 1970s

About the Item

Set composed by a 915 armchair with a footrest both pieces are made in chromed metal and padded leather. This set was designed by Carlo de Carli and produced by Cinova in the 1970s. H88x87x87 cm (armchair) H39x65x65 cm (footrest) Carlo de Carli was born in Milan in 1910, he was an Italian architect, designer, essayist and academic. He is one of the Italian protagonists of modern architecture and industrial design and their teaching. His line of thought is embodied in the architectures from the post-war period to the early seventies; he also designed numerous pieces of furniture with various artisans and industrial companies including the mod chair. 683 with Cassina winning the first Compasso d'Oro in 1954.

    Console table with a base in black lacquered metal and an ovoidal table top in granite, originally designed by Aimaro Oreglia d'Isola and Roberto Gabetti for the residential center Talponia based in Ivrea, and manufactured by Arbo during the 1970s. The activity of the studio of Roberto Gabetti (1925 - 2000) and Aimaro Oreglia d'Isola (1928) began in the fifties of the twentieth century. The Stock Exchange building, built in collaboration with Giorgio and Giuseppe Raineri in 1953, represents the first evidence of the design and layout of each individual part of the building, including furniture and fixed furnishings. The chairs, desks and sofas designed for the Stock Exchange are made by small Turin workshops (in particular the Colli di Torino furniture factory), with wood turned into organic shapes or veneered and polished and connected by open metal parts with a stiffening function, with extraordinary attention to detail.
