Pair of Austrian Red Leather Art Deco Armchairs Attributed to Otto Prutscher

About the Item

Pair of outstanding Austrian Art Deco armchairs, handcrafted bent and carved beechwood, dyed to black with renewed red leather upholstery. Due to their high quality of craftmenship and their style they can be attributed to the Viennese Architect and Designer Otto Prutscher, one of Josef Hoffmann´s most popular pupils, who created store fittings, numerous villas including interior decoration and residential buildings. He designed furniture, silverware, jewelry, porcelain, ceramics, stoves, glasses, tablecloths, carpets, fabrics, bindings and leather goods, lamps and chandeliers and is also well known as Teacher at the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule. This pair will be the perfect highlight for any Art Deco Livingroom or library.
