About the Item
Stunning pair of “Spanish” lounge chairs by unknown designer or manufacturer, Spain 1960. These beautiful shaped chairs are made of solid oak wood with beautiful natural saddle leather. The leather is still original and has a very nice patina due time and usage. It is clear that the design is very well-thought-out; the lines are precisely sculpted and the joinery precise and tight. The designer modernized the traditional shape, eliminating the elaborate carvings while retaining the important features: the broad seats and backrests that give the chair character and provide ample support for the human body. Furthermore, the combination of the wood and saddle leather gives a strong, rustic appearance. And yet, the visual element that defines the chairs are the metal screw caps that fix the leather to the frame. It is evident that the maker of these chairs possessed great talent in cabinetmaking and used high-quality materials.
Unique and characteristic pair of lounge chairs which also seat very comfortable. The chairs are in very good condition. A real nice catch for any modern home, office or interior.
