Set of 2 leather Lounge Chairs Attributed to Paul Tuttle for Strässle, 1970s

About the Item

Set of two high quality chromed metal lounge chairs with an off-white or beige leather upholstery. We think they are designed by Paul Tuttle for Strässle, Switzerland. They chairs are very similar in design to his "Zeta" lounge chair for Strässle. We also have a pair of "Zeta" lounge chairs (see our other listing for those) in the same color. And the leather, weight and craftsmanship is absolutely of the same quality. We are almost sure they are made by Strässle. Strässle is a high end furniture maker from Switzerland, famous for their high end sofa's and lounge chairs. The quality and status is comparable to that of De Sede. The chairs are made of a heavy chromed frame with cushions in their original leather. They are in good shape with normal traces of use considering their age. Beautiful vintage set from the mid-century in original condition! Paul Tuttle was an American furniture and interior designer known for its elegant, modern pieces. He combined materials like leather, metal, chrome and glass. He started in the 1950s under his mentor Alvin Lustig, who he got his inspiration from. In his work he was always searching for the purest form of function. Because of his use of chromed metal his work will make beautiful match with the tables, sofa’s. Lounge chairs and sideboards by Milo Baughman and Karl Springer.
