19th Century French Empire “Kissing Settee” with Privacy Screens

About the Item

A wonderful French Empire walnut “kissing settee” with carved swan arms, crests, and corners, privacy screens which raise up on each side, adorned with striped satin upholstery and seat cushion with gold & purple cord accents, all supported by carved paw feet. The settee dates to the 19th century and is in very good condition, with minor surface rubs, losses, and wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 35.25 in H x 49.25 in W x 39 in D ; 56 in H with screens up, and a seat height of 20 inches. Ref: 8
