Antique circa 1860 Fully Restored Deep Cigar Brown Leather Swivel Captains Chair
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this rare fully restored circa 1860 Barrell back Chesterfield hand dyed brown leather office chair
This chair is really quite exquisite, its one of the earliest types of swivel chairs I have ever seen, the frame is solid oak, the leather lovely thick English hide, the base swivels and it has solid brass castors
The chair has been fully restored to include having the leather washed back, its then been hand dyed six times, antiqued and sealed, the oak frame has been stripped back and French polished from the ground up

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
