About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning hand carved Tibetan rocking armchair with original patina finish. A very good looking well made and decorative piece, this is an original patina chair so it has the period distressed finish which looks every bit the 120-140 years old it is. This is the only chair of its type I have ever seen, its both primitive and beautiful and looks stylish in any setting. Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks all over, there is a small puncture mark towards the back of the seat rest. Dimensions Height:- 101cm Width:- 61.5cm Depth:- 109cm Seat height:- 43cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

    By Ania Wolowska
Located in PARQUE INDUSTRIAL OTHON P BLANCO, Quintana Roo
The design of Cocom rocking chair draws its inspiration from the wicker rockers and armchairs traditionally woven in Yucatan. Nowadays, this tradition is fading away, along with the art of hand-weaving chairs. That's why the intention behind the design of the Cocom collection is to remember and reclaim that heritage. This item is part of the Cocom Collection, where pieces merge tradition with modernity and elevate craftsmanship to its highest expression in terms of attention to detail. For its production, a wide variety of tropical woods endemic to southern Mexico are used, each of which gives the pieces not only a tropical vibe but also a unique and distinctive personality. _ design: Ania Wolowska finish: waxed weaving: cotton available in: Caribbean Walnut...
