Biedermeier Neoclassical Settee with Scroll Form Back & Saber Leg Supports

About the Item

This stunningly formed Biedermeier Settee with Scroll Form Back & Saber Supports in Beachwood with Neoclassical Detailing originates from France, Circa 1840. Features a beautifully reserved geometric composition adorned with subtle carved detailing on the beechwood segments with a lovely neoclassical motif of stylized female egyptian figures leading downwards from the arms and present at the feet of the front supports in a deep ebonized hardwood. The bottom lattice of the piece has starburst carvings, with naturalist plant and shell carvings leading up the scroll formed segments lining either side of the back. Fully upholstered in an ivory textured fabric connecting beautifully to the graphic elements of the piece. The back supports swoop in a saber style and provide additional support and stability to this stunning Settee. A lovely example of French Biedermeier, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Biedermeier to Neoclassical and Art Deco Interiors. In Mint Restored Condition.
