Chinese Late 20th Century Hand Carved Azalea Wood Root Lacquered Settee
About the Item
A Chinese settee from the late 20th century, hand carved out of one complete azalea root. Created in China during the later years of the 20th century, this striking settee was hand carved from an azalea root and lacquered to its reddish brown hue. The settee showcases an intricate base, back and arms showcasing the organic aspect of the azalea root. The piece features a reddish-brown lacquer that enhances the wood grain beautifully and adds brightness to the ensemble. This settee is a great example of root carving, something China excelled at during the 20th century. This Chinese 1990s hand carved lacquered azalea root settee will be a great addition to any living room or patio.
