Danish 1940's Settee attributed To Ole Wanscher
About the Item
Beautiful and unique settee that seem to draw on famous designs from Kaare Klint and Frits Henningsen. The settee is most likely by Ole Wanscher who made several customs pieces along these lines but we can not be sure of the maker as it is not catalogued nor marked. Very elegant design raised on mahogany legs with stretchers (usually seen in Kaare Klint's famous designs). Reupholstered in a midcentury wool at a later point which remains in usable condition but we would recommend to have the piece reupholstered which we are able to do at very favorable prices.
